Overview of Role

The Global Payroll and Operations Senior Accountant will support the 66degrees’ growing organization and accounting team and will report to the Global Controller in India. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record serving in a role supporting a high-growth business with complex financial reporting and accounting.

This role will require the candidate to work hours approximating United Kingdom working hours, facilitating effective and timely communication with the Global CFO and United States team members as well as the Global Controller and Accounting Team in India.

A 66degrees’ Global Payroll and Operations Senior Accountant’s responsibilities and duties are as follows: 

  • Lead the day-to-day accounting and reporting for 66degrees’ global payroll and benefits costs for the Company’s global teams, including the United States, India, Costa Rica, Canada, and the United Kingdom
  • Play a key role in the Company’s global monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, leading accounting for all global payroll, payroll tax, and benefits costs
  • Serve as lead administrator of the Company’s global travel and expense platforms, including Navan, managing global travel and expense costs and ensuring compliance with organizational policies by all global employees
  • Serve as a key liaison of the Accounting team to other global functions and teams, including Payroll, Human Resources, and Treasury
  • Act as a financial resource to global business leaders, collaborating with the Accounting team and other departments in reviewing and analyzing global payroll costs, travel costs, and other expenses, discovering creative solutions to improve overall business processes and performance
  • Perform and prepare various ad-hoc analysis and reporting surrounding global payroll, payroll taxes, benefits, travel expenses, and other operating expenses
  • Collaborate daily with Chief Financial Officer and Global Controller
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, train and encourage other team members
  • As needed, other tasks and responsibilities that add value to the business, our clients and your co-workers
  • Continue to be available and flexible to work during the United Kingdom (UK) time zone between 2:30 pm - 11:30 pm to be able to coordinate and collaborate with the US payroll team, HR and other resources.

Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years of related experience required
  • Experience in U.S. payroll accounting preferred
  • Experience working with Navan and other travel and expense platforms preferred
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in an appropriate field
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong preference for experience in Netsuite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial records and reporting.
  • Excellent English and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and present financial information to stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
