Working with our payroll processing partners, and based in our London office, the payroll specialist will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing and validation of payrolls to meet in-country legislative requirements, policies and service level agreements are met. The role will be the initial point of contact for our in-region colleagues and will support the international payroll function with ongoing governance tasks.
Experience
•Hands-on operational payroll processing (mandatory)
•UK and French payroll processing including knowledge of related legislative requirements (mandatory)
•Manual calculations (mandatory)
•International assignees and shares processing (desirable)
•Strong proficiency with Excel and similar tools (mandatory)
•Process documentation and maintenance (mandatory)
•Working with integrated HR and Payroll systems e.g. SAP Payroll, Workday, ADP iHCM (highly desirable)
•Project and process improvement exposure (desirable)
•Payroll accounting (desirable)
•Working in Financial services or another highly regulated sector (desirable)
•US payroll exposure (desirable)
Key capabilities
•Fluent in French (desirable) and English (spoken & written)
•Good stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to pick up the phone and have a conversation
•Comfortable working with and manipulating datasets / information using tools such as Excel to validate accuracy of data
•Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with our payroll processing partners and to troubleshoot and problem-solve using HCM solutions and tools – e.g. troubleshooting integration files and data feeds
•Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment

Qualification Requirements
•Minimum 3-5 years’ UK and France payroll experience (mandatory)
•Tertiary qualified in Business, Accounting or HR-related discipline (desirable)

•Handling non-compliance or discrepancies
•Escalation of issues to line manager
Key Accountabilities
•Payroll processing for UK and French payrolls including calculation of statutory payments (SMP, SSP, pension and other in country benefits), in country taxes and applicable allowances and deductions.
•Assist with end of month payroll reporting, journals and reconciliation
•Maintain payroll records and documentation across shared sites.
•Work closely with outsourced payroll providers, provide instructions, review outputs and raise corrective instructions as required ensuring accuracy of payroll changes.
•Generate and analyse payroll-related reports (e.g., variance reports, headcount, tax, pension etc.) to ensure accuracy and compliance with in-country legislation and policies
•Act as the first point of contact for international payroll-related queries, providing timely and accurate advice to colleagues on payroll processes, policies and systems
•Assist in the preparation of year-end payroll reports and statutory filings to meet compliance with filing and reporting deadlines
•Support requests for information from business areas including reward and equity teams.
•Contribute to and assist the update of payroll process documentation to reflect current practices and governance standards
•Follow appropriate guidelines for escalations / dispute resolution
•Provide recommendations for process improvements to better serve our colleagues
•Ensure the confidentiality and security of payroll data, adhering to data protection and GDPR requirements
•Contribute to the sharing of knowledge to ensure effective collaboration and cross skill of all team members
Key Performance Indicators
•Meet agreed SLAs for payroll accuracy (i.e. minimising post-processing adjustments) and on-time payroll processing
•Compliance with in-country legislation and regulations or appropriate escalation as required
•Timely response and resolution of payroll queries
•Contribute to accurate working documentation
•Provide recommendations for process changes to ensure better ways of working
•Proactively manage risk, escalating events, issues or breaches as they are identified
•Adhere to controls, process and procedures pertinent to role
