The Vendor & Financial Administration Analyst will be responsible for ensuring strong, accurate financial management and effective law firm and legal vendor engagement for the Global Legal, Compliance & Regulatory department, inclusive of financial reporting and analysis, accruals, and monitoring of law firm and legal vendor performance. Working closely with the Manager, GLCR Vendor & Financial Administration and the broader Global Legal, Compliance & Regulatory Service Delivery team, the Vendor & Financial Administration Analyst will meld financial analysis with law firm and legal vendor relationship and matter management to facilitate spend transparency and optimization. The role will be a key component of our legal vendor management and financial monitoring structure and will play a pivotal role in establishing financial and vendor performance key performance indicators.
Key responsibilities:
Collaborates with leadership to manage the financial affairs of GLCR, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, allocations, and accruals
Develops and monitors financial and vendor management key performance indicators
Communicates with law firms and legal vendors on expense/invoice submission; facilitates positive relationships with law firm billing departments to ensure clear and accurate exchange of information; monitors law firm / legal vendor financial performance
Participates in financial analysis and forecasting activities to support strategic planning and decision-making and assist in law firm / legal vendor management.
Prepares detailed financial and matter management reports and presents findings to GLCR leadership and other business partners.
Contributes to compliance with financial and vendor management policies and regulations
Enables successful completion of law firm annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process
Analyzes variances to budget, identify key trends and drivers, partner with attorneys and management to drive production of vetted financials
Serves as subject matter expert for financial deliverables within GLCR as related to key projects and strategic initiatives
Executes firm engagements, security and control assessments, and other firm and vendor administration-related deliverables; manages law firm and legal vendor contacts, such as billing and relationship partner communication
Ensures accurate data in connection with firm eBilling and matter management records in outside counsel management system
What we’re looking for:
5+ years of progressive finance, legal operations, legal vendor management, or other corporate experience that demonstrates strong business and financial acumen.
BA degree or equivalent, MBA preferred
Experience in legal forecasting and budgeting is preferred
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and on-time delivery in regimented, financial calendar-anchored environment
Ability to work independently and succeed in fast-paced environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
Demonstrated analytical mindset and ability to synthesize information.
