The Student and Academic Services Department (SASD) provides comprehensive support across the student life cycle—from admission and matriculation to graduation and beyond. SASD works closely with schools, colleges, and autonomous institutes to ensure a seamless and enriching academic journey. Within SASD, the Student Affairs Office (SAO) plays a central role in shaping student life through leadership development, student-led activities, residential life, integration efforts, community engagement, arts, and sports.
The Senior Assistant Manager leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of university-wide student development programmes such as the Peer Mentoring Programme and the Student Ambassador Programme, as well as student development professional development for staff.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership Development Programmes: Peer Mentoring Programme
Be responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a university-wide peer mentoring ecosystem that supports student transition, engagement, wellbeing, and success through a structured peer mentoring framework, engagement touchpoints, and impact measurement tools.
Develop training for peer mentors and facilitate mentoring communities of practice.
Lead innovation and scaling of mentoring models (e.g., transition mentoring, holistic mentoring, leadership mentoring).
Student Ambassador Programme
Support the end-to-end selection, onboarding, training, and deployment of Global Ambassadors, ensuring smooth execution of programmes and the development of the Global Ambassadors.
Lead high-level event management through liaison with government agencies, overseas universities, and internal stakeholders such as President’s Office and the Office for International Engagement.
Student Development Training for Staff
Manage the end-to-end development of Student Development training for staff by translating curriculum frameworks into implementable programmes, coordinating content development, and ensuring alignment with intended learning outcomes.
Operationalise and enhance the curation of learning & development courses through conducting learning needs analysis, managing partnerships with training providers, and implementing evaluation frameworks to assess programme effectiveness.
Manage the end-to-end planning and execution of large-scale student development conferences to ensure relevance, quality, and impact.
Plan and execute marketing outreach strategy both locally and overseas.
Requirements
Degree in any discipline with at least six years of relevant experience in student engagement or student development.
Experience in youth and leadership development sectors is advantageous.
Strong pedagogical expertise, with proven ability to design and facilitate impactful learning experiences.
Demonstrated event management and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail.
Established track record in stakeholder management.
Operational readiness to travel overseas for project supervision when required.
Flexibility to support student events during weekday evenings or weekends in academic terms (with time off provided).
