Are you ready to dive into the dynamic world of supply chain management? C.H. Robinson is offering an exciting opportunity to join our TMC division as an intern where you’ll help some of the world’s most diverse and prominent companies move their products around the world. The supply chain industry is evolving faster than ever before, and you’ll be in the middle of the action, gaining hands-on business experience with a Fortune 200 industry leader.

This paid internship will begin with an interactive onboarding program where you’ll learn more about TMC, our technology, processes, and culture. Interns are integrated into our teams, giving you the opportunity to learn global freight services and help shippers and carriers optimize supply chains.

The Supply Chain Engineer Intern will be responsible for data mining, analysis, and continuous improvement across multiple client accounts. The Intern will gain hands on experience extracting, graphically representing, and analyzing real world data for Fortune 500 companies.

In this role, you will engage with peers on-site three days a week, igniting creativity and driving impactful results. With the flexibility for remote work two days a week, this role strikes the perfect balance between teamwork and autonomy.

Responsibilities:

  • Work along-side industry professionals to learn internal business processes and supply chain best practices
  • Review historical and forecasted multi-modal transportation data (such as truckload and less-than truckload etc.) to identify improvements and cost reduction opportunities
  • Ability to understand “story in the data”, and to propose most effective solutions to achieve the future/better state
  • Work with client and operations team on analytical scenario development
  • Communicate with client through formal presentation and informal discussion the results of analytical projects
  • Work with client and operations team to support implementation of identified improvements
  • Develop metrics and dashboards to track success/opportunities of recently implemented changes on the account
  • Support account team by providing feedback, support, and direction towards their projects and initiatives
  • Learn and effectively use best-in-class technology systems, including our proprietary global supply chain platform, Navisphere®

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to write mathematical formulas in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, team environment, while also delivering independent results
  • Relationship building skills
  • Driven, enthusiastic, and highly motivated
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask

  • Undergraduate education at a Junior or Senior level (pursuing a business, sales, marketing, supply chain, communications, or related major is a plus)
