Principal Software Engineer

The Role

Do you enjoy setting technical direction while still building impactful software? As a Principal Software Engineer focused on front‑end development, you’ll shape how customers interact with our DeFi application platform while influencing how teams design and deliver web experiences. This role blends hands‑on engineering with technical leadership across startup‑style execution and enterprise‑scale delivery.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and building front‑end experiences for a DeFi application platform used by enterprise customers

• Setting front‑end architecture standards, patterns, and shared components

• Leading technical design and code reviews across teams

• Working closely with design, product, and backend teams to deliver cohesive, end‑to‑end solutions

• Driving pragmatic development processes that balance speed, quality, security, and reliability

• Mentoring engineers and raising overall front‑end engineering quality

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

You bring deep front‑end engineering experience combined with a startup mindset—able to move quickly while applying the rigor required for enterprise and regulated environments. You are comfortable working in evolving problem spaces common to DeFi platforms and influencing technical outcomes beyond your immediate team.

You have strong expertise in JavaScript and modern front‑end frameworks such as React, with a solid understanding of performance, accessibility, and responsive design at scale. You have partnered closely with design teams to deliver polished, user‑centered interfaces and with backend teams to integrate complex systems and APIs. You value clear processes, documentation, and continuous improvement, and you communicate effectively across disciplines.

Key qualifications

• Experience building and leading front‑end systems for startup and enterprise platforms

• Experience delivering applications for enterprise or institutional customers

• Strong collaboration with design, product, and backend engineering teams

• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

The base salary range for this position is $107,000-216,000 USD per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
