The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking an action-oriented Operations Support Specialist to join our mission sustainment team. As a Sterling, VA-based operations team member, you will provide systems engineering, networking, and other critical operations support, including networking maintenance and remote troubleshooting for globally deployed signal processing systems. This role requires effective communication skills, advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, professional incident and event management experience, and seasoned Linux command line knowledge. You must be able to effectively manage and prioritize issues reported/discovered, escalate when needed, and maintain focus on operational system availability.

Shift requirement is 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. (Add flexible lunchtime)

Note: This is NOT a teleworking role. Daily activities are onsite work only.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide program-wide support related to global systems and related applications.

  • Provide technical support for Linux, Cisco, and other proprietary systems.

  • Become a key player in the program’s migration to RHEL8.

  • Provide professional and inquisitive communications over the phone, email, and chat platforms as a means to isolate any/all problems reported and provide operational updates.

  • Ability to multi-task during high work volume times; e.g., document issues, troubleshoot, and communicate effectively.

  • Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve or escalate issues according to issue type and severity.

  • Ability to train, teach, and mentor others on how to triage and troubleshoot complex IT problems.

  • Facilitate all required operational reporting per the established service level agreements and program expectations.​

Qualifications:
Required: 

  • Active TS/SCI

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; 5+ years of systems engineering and/or networking experience

  • Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment

  • Direct experience working with/troubleshooting Linux-based Operating Systems

  • Experience with computer networking devices (routers/switches/firewalls)

  • Understanding of client/server architectures

  • Customer service and/or support experience working in a sustainment support environment

  • Ability to support a 40-hour work week with flexibility for occasional after-hours/weekend support of critical events

Desired:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux, RHEL8 proficiency &/or applicable certification (RHCSA or Linux+)

  • Prior Military service and/or experience working with Military Service groups

  • Remedy, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Service Now, or similar ticketing system experience

  • Experience with SIGINT data processing/technology

  • High comfort level working with technology at a fast pace

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$70,800 - $148,600
