JOB SUMMARY

ONEOK is seeking an experienced and motivated Prover Technician. The Prover Technician is responsible for the accuracy of ONEOK's meters.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Witness 3rd party prover. 

  • Use company mobile and stationary prover. 

  • Shakeout oil. 

  • Maintain schedule and daily completion reports. 

  • Communicate with customers for scheduling witness. 

  • Communicate with operators regarding meter issues, rates, pot pulls, etc. 

  • Generate custody transfer tickets. 

  • Responsible for meter accuracy. 

 

  Knowledge and Skills:  

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. 

  • 5+ years of I&E skills, API measurement and lease operations experience is preferred. 

  • Strong computer (MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, Internet) and communication skills. 

  • Experience with General API measurement practices and theory. 

  • Knowledge of provers, meters and flow computers. 

  • Must be able to work efficiently and safely. 

  • Must be able to initiate communication and have excellent communication skills. 

  • Able to troubleshoot meter and prover issues. 

  • PROVEiT software experience a plus. 

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record. 

  

Physical Demands:  

  • Works both indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment with temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment. 

  • Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., and apply up to 100-foot pounds of torque.  

  • Climbs and works at various heights and may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched, or kneeling positionMust be able to bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels.  

  • Routinely reacts to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work. 

  • May work in confined spaces (i.e. tanks, between compressors, vessels). 

  • Must have the ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.

  • Adaptable and flexible work schedule.
