Core responsibilities:
Undertake power system studies and analyses using simulation software, such as MATLAB, DIGsILENT and/or ETAP.
Perform system and equipment design and specification, support test & validation, commissioning and in through life service support.
Produce clear and concise engineering documentation.
Ensure Power System designs comply with the relevant health & safety, international standards, and class society rules where applicable.
Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders, such as leadership teams, customers and suppliers, managing requirements.
Ensure designs comply with relevant class and marine standards.
Essential qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject, relevant experience would be beneficial.
Sole British citizenship with a valid British Passport (“UK Eyes only”)
Possession of or being capable of obtaining SC level security clearance.
Relevant equipment and systems-level experience, preferably in industrial, marine, or naval defense sectors.
Willing to travel within the UK and internationally for short-term assignments.
Nice to have:
Working towards or hold CEng qualification.
Expertise in one or more of the following: power system modelling, power electronics, machines and drives (PEMD).
Familiarity with marine classification society standards, MIL or DEF standards.
This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; based on customer requirements it will be necessary to carry out background checks and suitability assessments (UK BPSS clearance OR UK SC clearance) as part of the hiring process.
