This role is key to Abiomed’s adoption and outcome improvement strategies. Our products have continued to expand in surgical suites across the EMEA and Spain. With our continued success, we are looking to expand our field team. This role will be responsible for delivering enhanced value and impact of our Impella® product portfolio to physicians, hospital staff and our local distribution partner. This role will cover Spain after a training period conducted on European level.

Patient Support: Improve patient outcomes through education, implementing latest clinical best practices and medical staff interaction, with emphasis on OR and ICU. Visit key institutions where patients have been equipped with Impella Pump portfolio to collect clinically relevant data.

Responsibilities:

  • Proctor/-support cases in new surgical accounts as well as complex cases at experienced sites.

  • Perform After Action Review’s (AAR) with MD’s following cases and communicate results.

  • Surgical Account Training & Management: Responsible for ongoing training at European surgical key sites. Enable and drive the growth and performance of our surgical business. Coordinate and lead activities with SAM, Franchise Team (TM/CC), Training department, Medical Office and manage customer education for new and existing accounts to ensure best clinical outcomes. Establish surgical peer-to-peer networks across the region to share best practices and implement/ support peer-to-peer educational programs (incl. physician proctoring) in cooperation with our Physician Program Team and Medical Office.

  • Therapy Development: Support Abiomed’s goal to establish Heart Recovery as new standard of care.

  • This will be achieved through the implementation of Abiomed’s surgical product portfolio, with training of MDs & hospital staff, about the appropriate use of Impella to ensuring excellent clinical outcomes.

  • Conferences: Represent us at surgical conferences across the EMEA region.

  • Ability to travel 80% within territory required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in health related field

  • Working Experience: 5+ years’ experience of direct patient support in OR with cardiac surgery and/- or surgical medical devices in the field of Heart Failure and MCS (Mechanical circulatory support) (Perfusionist; ICU Nurse; OR nurse) support business 3+ years of commercial experience related to products and technologies utilized in the cardiovascular space, Mechanical circulatory support.

  • Strong knowledge of cardiac surgery, perfusion medicine, mechanical circulatory support, ICU, structural heart

  • Surgical background is preferred
