SUMMARY
Managing, directing, and evaluating the engineering and drafting functions at Flygt Pewaukee Operation. Responsibilities include scheduling and distributing the engineering and drafting work among the Project Engineers, Designers and Drafters, monitoring the E&D hours for specific tasks and projects, coordinating sub-contract engineering & drafting, checking, and evaluation of workforce force capabilities, quality, and productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Directing the workload within the engineering and drafting departments to ensure on time completion of submittal drawings, design calculations, manufacturing drawings, BOM releases within the MRP system, shop testing, and other E&D work to ensure on time delivery of submittals and hardware.
• Initiating sub contract engineering and drafting to reduce cycle times and costs for project based business. Responsibilities will include determining the scope of sub contracted work, managing the contracted work to ensure on time delivery and error free work, and minimizing engineering and drafting costs.
• Checking drawings and designs to ensure error free work and designs. Responsibilities will include conducting engineering review meetings on major projects including value based engineering reviews.
• Directing design engineering and changes for the NS product line. Responsibilities to include job specific design alterations for NS projects including bill of materials and design changes.
• Evaluating, upgrading, and maintaining workforce and systems to maximize productivity. Responsibilities to include evaluating personnel capabilities and computer systems and implementing training programs or upgrades as needed.
• Monitoring and managing E&D hours for specific tasks and projects as defined by FPO policies and procedures.
• Design support functions for FPO products manufactured in the Xylem India facility.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline with a minimum of ten years related experience including at least five years managing people.
• Minimum 5 years experience in centrifugal pump industry is required.
Specialized Knowledge Required – Including any required certificates, licenses, and registrations
• Professional Engineering license is preferred.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Works well in cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills.

Salary range:
