Core Responsibilities and Tasks
- Leads and participates in development of concepts, prototypes, processes, and products from initial design to market release.
- Leads smaller projects where there is a clear path of execution and meeting the expected deliverables
- Collaborates closely with third-party consultants to drive key parallel path projects.
- Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
- Prepares project plans for basic projects that specify project phases, tasks, task interdependencies, durations, resource assignments, and costs.
- Leads and participates in risk analysis for products under development.
- Coordinates activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure the delivery of supplies or services needed to meet scheduled timelines.
- Mentor junior engineers on technical development and project management as required.
- Participates in brainstorming and design reviews.
- Conducts feasibility studies of the design to determine ability to function as intended.
- Ability to generate and execute protocols and reports as needed to support validation activities, including Design Verification, IQ, OQ, PQ.
- Maintains standards of excellence in all Product Development processes.
- Possesses project management skills to plan, execute and control as well as excellent communication skills to report status and to drive escalation of issues.
- Effectively presents and explains engineering concepts both orally and in writing.
- Drives overall product quality through verification, validation, and design transfer while adhering to the quality management system and design control processes.
Position Requirements
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in Engineering, Project Engineering, New Product Development
- Domain knowledge and expertise in at least one discipline of engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Biosystem, Industrial, Systems, etc.)
- Demonstrated engineering experience to drive technical decision making for medium and high-risk programs/projects
- Knowledge and experience in multiple engineering disciplines to foster leading a technical team
- Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to plan and ensure the on-time and quality completion of complex activities/projects
- Able to effectively multi-task and handle evolving priorities
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to document, plan, track and execute projects
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working
Desired:
- Experience working within a highly regulated environment, medical device experiences a plus
- Experience with formal design control processes and requirements
- Advanced understanding of MS Office (project, word, excel) and ERP systems (SAP)
- Established project management knowledge and/or experience leading large projects

Salary range:
$70,500.00 - $126,500.00
