Job Description:

General Description: Assists in carrying out treatment plan designed by therapist and prescribed by a physician and fulfills duties in patient registration, admission, and scheduling.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assists therapist in administering treatments and exercise, etc.
  • Prepares the treatment area by restocking supplies and linens, setting up treatment spaces.
  • Performs Patient Services Representative duties, such as:
  • Interviews patients and responsible parties to obtain personal, demographic, and financial information required for the registration of patients.
  • Make pre-registration/pre-admission contacts with the patient or responsible party as appropriate.
  • Schedules appointments following appropriate procedures and guidelines.
  • Directs patients and visitors to appropriate sources for other inquiries.
  • Effectively communicates with patients to confirm appointment.
  • Reviews appointments for accuracy.
  • Receives referrals to schedule a patient. 
  • Maintains various reports and logs as appropriate.

General Responsibilities:

Minimum Requirements

Education:  None required

Experience:  1 or more years of work experience required.  Experience in healthcare preferred. 

Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) required upon hire.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of spelling, punctuation and grammar and of basic mathematics.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
  • Skill in following verbal and written instructions.
  • Typing/keyboarding skills sufficient to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Proficient in Medical Terminology
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy
