As a Product Manager at CMT, you will be responsible for managing and developing our gig economy products aimed at improving driving safety, and reducing risk and fraud on gig platforms. You will work closely with our gig partners and cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet customer needs, drive business goals, and maintain high standards of quality and performance. Your role involves assisting in the development and execution of product strategies, managing the product lifecycle, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional telematics products.
CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative Principal Product Manager II, Gig who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better!
Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of the needs of customers and exercise advanced judgment and creativity to craft and execute a compelling, strategic vision that addresses complex challenges in the gig economy
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams, including engineers, sales professionals, designers, and data scientists, to articulate, develop, and deliver high-impact products tailored to the gig workforce and platform companies
- Author and refine comprehensive product requirements documents, ensuring seamless communication and alignment across business, design, and development teams while addressing complex and unique challenges
- Define and execute a compelling vision for products serving the gig economy, particularly addressing risk and fraud reduction
- Integrate advanced consumer insights and market intelligence into product strategies, proactively driving the exploration of new opportunities and addressing emerging trends in the gig economy
- Collaborate with UX professionals to conduct in-depth user research, usability testing, and iterative improvements, delivering innovative solutions to complex pain points and enhancing product experiences
- Partner with senior and executive leadership to develop and present robust business cases and strategic roadmaps for gig economy-focused product lines, aligning initiatives with organizational objectives and securing stakeholder buy-in
- Drive the successful execution of critical cross-functional initiatives, addressing and mitigating roadblocks while leveraging organizational resources to deliver results at scale
- Act as a thought leader and advocate for the gig economy product vision, identifying and navigating future challenges and opportunities, and creating innovative, impactful solutions that align with the company’s mission
- Influence organizational collaboration at a strategic level, integrating diverse feedback and fostering cohesion across multiple departments and projects
- Mentor and support less-experienced peers, promoting a learning culture and ensuring the team’s continuous development and success
- Complete any additional tasks as they arise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification in a related field
- 9+ years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of leading complex, high-impact product initiatives across multiple stakeholders and departments
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative and resourceful solutions to address significant and unique challenges in the gig economy space
- Experience collaborating with data scientists and machine learning engineers to define and implement requirements for predictive algorithms
- Proficiency in project and program management tools, such as JIRA, and familiarity with agile methodologies
- Exceptional ability to synthesize data-driven insights into actionable strategies and deliver measurable business outcomes
- Advanced proficiency in usability testing and iterative design processes to refine and enhance product features
- Comfortable reading and interpreting API documentation to facilitate seamless integrations
- Proven ability to adapt to evolving business needs, prioritize effectively, and maintain focus on high-impact objectives under resource constraints
- Passion for leveraging data and insights to improve safety, efficiency, and experiences in the gig economy

Base Salary Range
- The base salary range for this position is: $163,600 to $204,500. This range is specifically for Cambridge, MA
