About the Role

Lead the Management Reporting and Planning team to provide all management forecast/ reports/analysis to facilitate Head of Financial Management and Planning, Chief Financial Officer and senior management to make timely and strategic management decision.

Oversee the annual budget exercise. Provide timely and quality management reports to Senior Management and Group Office.

Work closely with agency management and partnership distribution management in financial result tracking and give finance insight to drive business result.

Lead the governance of projects, coordinate and partner closely with the Project teams, Finance and Group Project Management (“GPM”) to ensure overall compliance with Project Approval Governance Standard and its effective and efficient execution.

Assist Head of CFO in the execution of Group Finance Strategies cascaded from Group Office NGF

Roles and Responsibilities:

Management Reporting, Business Planning and Analysis (50%)

  • Provide timely management information to senior management for decision making and being a key finance member in the weekly business meeting with CEO, CFO, channels and other business functions
  • Drive channel performance and leveraging forecast capability as a strategic finance partner, give insights to channels in business decision
  • Oversee / manage annual budget/ forecast/management reports, performs analytical review and support on budget/forecast exercise
  • Lead the team to partner with IT and Group Finance to develop/ maintain a robust Management Information System and Data Analytic Platform
  • Lead the team to streamline/automate the workflow and processes to achieve work efficiency of the team

Project Approval Governance (15%)

  • Lead the team to coordinate with Project teams and Functions to provide input and feedback on the functional feasibility, commerciality or project financial of the business case, and to ensure compliance with other policies within the company, with appropriate approvals from stakeholders
  • Lead the team to partner with project leads to support planning, approval and execution, especially in accessing various technical Finance functions
  • Lead project approval pipeline and key inflight projects monitoring and reporting

CFO Office Support (15%)

  • Key lead role in the Working Committee to drive the execution of the cascaded Next Generation Finance (NGF) Strategies from Group Office
  • Key lead role in the Working Committee to run the Finance Talent Development & Events

People Management (10%)

  • Lead and manage team in order to enhance employee competencies, engagement and performance levels
  • Manage and motivate staff by identifying and creating opportunities to enhance competencies & performance
  • Coach and mentor high performers / potential staff in order to build a strong team

Other responsibilities (10%)

  • Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational &/or other requirements.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • University graduate and a member of recognized professional accounting body or actuarial association
  • 15+ years relevant experience, preferably in financial management and planning with deep understanding of performance metrics
  • Strong interest in insurance business and working with distribution channels
  • Good leadership and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong excel, PowerPoint and presentation skills
  • Sound knowledge in management information system and business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI
