DESCRIPTION:
As a Supply Chain Planning Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products through our supply chain. You'll manage procurement activities, analyze demand forecasts, and maintain optimal inventory levels to support our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll coordinate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality Control, R&D, and external suppliers to ensure timely material availability while maintaining compliance with quality standards and regulations. REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's Degree required; no prior experience required in procurement or supply chain in a manufacturing environment
• Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
• Professional certifications in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPIM) beneficial
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for inventory optimization and demand planning
• Experience with MRP systems and inventory management strategies
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality management systems (GMP, ISO)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Fluent English language skills, both written and verbal
• Experience with purchase order management and supplier performance tracking
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
• Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and cost savings
• Knowledge of international trade and logistics operations
• Ability to analyze and interpret supply chain metrics and KPIs
