Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Product Development Specialist, who will contribute and focus on the Bonding & Sealing platform new product development, which would be relevant to structure adhesive for automotive applications. The person hired who will be responsible to support manufacturing processes with expectations of commercialization and localization as well.  This position requires an individual with strong professional background of structure adhesive, cross function collaboration, and communication skills, who is with the ability to collect facts and facilitate good project decisions.

Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

• Lead new product development, and support the new product commercialization and localization, introduce new structure adhesive products and technologies to the automotive industry.
• Prototyping and making unique products with strong value proposition using 3M technology, customer and market understanding, competitive structure adhesive product knowledge.
• Creating intellectual property and strategy to establish a sustainable competitive advantage.
• Working with cross function local/global teams for knowledge and technology sharing, developing strong working partnerships/networks internal the 3M Bonding & Sealing platform organization (China & Global), 3M Corporate Labs and other external groups
• Supporting Manufacturing programs having major impact to the COGS initiative.

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or above from an accredited university in Polymer Material Science and Technology or Chemistry.
• Minimum 5yrs of polymer material formulating and process experiences.
• Rich experience in new product development and innovation
• Proactively communicating project direction and status to appropriate personnel, good global teamwork

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience on structure adhesives formulation development.
• Experience on new product development process (NPI) and Change Management Process (CMP)
• Fluent oral and written English
