Job Description:

  • Role title: Nuclear Medicine Scientist

  • Role type: Max term contract, full time. Until May 2025, with possibility to extend

  • Role grade: Nuclear Medicine Technician Level 2 (Year 1 – 5)

  • Department and location:  Theragnostic and Nuclear Medicine, Darlinghurst

  • Salary: $76,045.64 - $104,754.22 + super + salary packaging

About the role

  • Clinical Expertise: Perform a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures, including therapy treatments, adhering to strict radiation safety guidelines and best practice standards

  • Patient-Centric Care: Deliver exceptional patient care by prioritizing patient needs, ensuring accurate documentation, and fostering a compassionate and supportive environment

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, researchers, and external stakeholders to enhance patient outcomes and advance nuclear medicine practices.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory standards, including radiation safety regulations, quality assurance protocols, and accreditation requirements.

  • Professional Development: Commit to ongoing professional development, staying up to date with the latest advancements in nuclear medicine and actively participating in research and quality improvement initiatives.

About you

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiation Science - Nuclear Medicine or equivalent qualifications recognised by the Medical Radiation Practice Board (MRPB)

  • Current NSW EPA radiation licence under the Radiation Control Act 1990

  • Completed the supervised practice programme, or fourth year university degree equivalent, and obtained general registration through Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Good communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills and the ability to solve complex problems

  • Developed knowledge in the application of quality improvement, industrial, risk management and WH&S principles
