Core Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement multi-asset class portfolios in alignment with Vanguard’s investment objectives, continually optimizing for better investment outcomes for our clients.
  • Develop and refine ISG V-Models such as VAAM, leveraging new research and stakeholder feedback to drive enhancements in portfolio methodologies.
  • Partner with business stakeholders (FAS, IIG, EA, PRD, Intl, PI) to deliver multi-asset investment solutions and capabilities.  
  • Participates in the ongoing review and enhancement of Vanguard's investment methodology. Performs detailed methodology audits and makes recommendations on changes to senior investment committee.
  • Co-authoring white papers and journal articles in collaboration with other crew members.
  • Research portfolio construction topics such as allocating to illiquid assets (private equity/private credit), tax efficient asset allocation, rebalancing strategies, and roles of various assets in a portfolio.
  • Develop robust tools/prototypes that translate investment models into practical, scalable solutions in python.  
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of asset allocation methodologies and investment concepts.
  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree and / or CFA preferred.
  • Seven years related work experience, including five years investment management experience. Experience with investment research preferred.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders and capable of conveying technical concepts clearly in writing and presentations.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, specifically in creating dashboards using libraries like Plotly Dash.
