The Leidos Global Supply Chain organization is seeking a Procurement Manager to support its Strategic Sourcing Materials Procurement function. This role will report directly to the Strategic Sourcing Procurement Director and will be an integrated member of operation supporting the larger corporation.

The Procurement Manager is accountable for Huntsville Manufacturing Procurement activities. Similarly, this leader is responsible for governance, organizational development and execution of the strategic materials within the Procurement team. The Procurement Manager will manage and lead a team of 5-8 Procurement Buying Professionals.

The Strategic Sourcing Procurement Manger role is responsible for day-to-day operations of strategic materials purchasing for the corporation supporting the Huntsville Manufacturing organization. Leader will Implement strategies related to successful execution of materials to ensure products are delivered on time and represent the best value for Leidos and its customers. Will possess knowledge of FAR and DFAR and other federal procurement regulations. Responsible for organizational development of the materials procurement team, execution performance timeliness, and ensures employee training and growth.

Primary Responsibilities

The duties of the Procurement Manager include:

  • Lead full life cycle Procurement activities for programs within the corporation, including but not limited to: Supplier contract negotiation and execution, supplier development, sourcing activities, negotiations of terms and conditions, and issue resolution with solutions. May engage in supplier relationship management; regulatory compliance, and risk management activities to support buying team and supply chain goals.

  • Communicates with stakeholders across the organization to ensure customer and program requirements are met through the procurement process. Requires ability to collaborate cross-functionally regarding policies, practices and procedures.

  • Manages a mid-sized team consisting of strategic material Buyers. Leads, directs, and reviews the work of professional buyers and supports team as needed. Requires practical and tactical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within manufacturing and material Purchasing products.

  • Develops or reviews prime contract flowdown documents to ensure compliance with prime contract requirements and to minimize company liability.

  • Support internal/external audit activities, including Purchase Order file reviews, as well as, data request from internal / external customers.

  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations. Must have experience with all contract types and a working knowledge of FAR/DFAR. Understand AS9100 / ISO standards

  • Resolving supplier performance and/or quality issues in collaboration with organizational leadership, mission assurance, and program team

  • Promote a culture of teamwork, trust and inclusion while developing staff members

  • Key supplier advocate and interface into our procurement, business development, material estimating, mission assurance, and finance organization

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 5+ years or prior relevant experience or Masters with 3+ years of prior relevant experience. 2+ years of demonstrated success supervising or leading teams or projects.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations. Must have experience with all contract types and a working knowledge of FAR/DFAR
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with process improvement perspective
  • Knowledge in government contracts, municipal, and commercial contracts preferred.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Must have the interpersonal skills to deal effectively with executive management and staff regarding Procurement issues with high degrees of complexity and work issues to resolution.
  • Drive organizational efficiencies and cost savings to the business

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deltek CostPoint experience preferred
  • Experience negotiating terms and conditions
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing and DoD Material Procurement

Pay Range:

Pay Range $78,000.00 - $141,000.00
