For Linklaters Service Delivery Centre Warsaw, we are currently recruiting for the BD & Marketing Team Leader role.

The successful candidate will join and help lead a dynamic team that supports the global BDM team with a range of business development and marketing requests. This includes the preparation and maintenance of targeted marketing collateral, the drafting of client overviews and relationship documents, supporting on pitch opportunities, taking the lead on directory submissions, execution of business plans, coordinating marketing campaigns and initiatives, and events (alongside the firm’s events team).

You will be responsible for the line management of the Warsaw BDM Support team and overall service delivery of the team. You will occasionally support the team in completing requests when necessary.

You will work closely with the BD & Marketing Operations Managers to consistently lead the team, drive best practice and ensure we are assisting where most needed. Acting as a role model, you will be solution focused and able to get the best from your team in an exciting, challenging and fast paced environment.

What we are looking for

  • Experience in BD/Marketing in a law firm or professional services firm is preferable. You will have an interest in client and general marketing campaigns and initiatives.

  • Attention to detail – a highly diligent candidate who has an excellent focus on quality and attention to detail with the ability to instil the importance of this in your team.

  • Excellent communicator – you will have excellent written and verbal English language skills. Be able to confidently present yourself to lawyers and business teams colleagues.

  • Project management – you will have solid project management skills, excellent time management and organisational skills. You will have experience of working on multiple jobs, working under pressure, often to tight deadlines and able to prioritise work.

  • Teamwork mentality – you will have an understanding that successful delivery of projects relies on a team.

  • People management experience, ideally in a BDM role in a professional services environment.

  • Experience of working in a delivery environment under extreme time pressure.

  • Able to ‘take the lead’ in challenging situations and find solutions whilst building respect amongst colleagues and acting appropriately.

  • You will be client focused, professional and approachable.

Expectations of the role

This role involves the line management of a Warsaw-based BDM Support team members. This includes:

  • Consistently managing the performance of the team in line with our performance management approach (holding regular 1:1s, and career and development conversations), recording absence/overtime reporting, being aware of busyness in the team and what each team member is working on, delegating and reorganising work within the team where necessary, and regularly reviewing the team’s work to ensure deadlines are met and high quality is adhered to.

  • Fostering and developing a strong client service ethos within the team, empowering the team to manage challenging requests.

  • Providing direction and support to the team.

  • Ensuring there is regular communication of important/relevant information to the team and management along with any key updates.

  • Taking ownership of quality levels to ensure client expectations are met.

  • Ensuring that all HR and management activities are delivered in line with our policies and guidelines.

  • Acting as an initial escalation point for queries and complaints. Ensuring the BDM Operations Manager is updated with any challenges/issues.

  • Supporting the BDM Operations Manager with recruitment for the team and managing the onboarding of new joiners.

  • Stakeholder management – alongside the BDM Operations Manager, ensure regular communication is maintained with our global BDM Managers to seek feedback and act swiftly as necessary. Especially where we offer dedicated support to specific offices/regions.

Occasionally the role will involve supporting the team in completing requests:.

  • Work with the BDM team to enhance coordination efforts, including managing a centralised repository of marketing materials.

  • Take responsibility for the ongoing maintenance and updating of practice/sector related content on Linklaters.com and on relevant intranet pages.

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Salesforce and assist the BDM team to maximise its utilisation across the practice.

  • Craft comprehensive client, sector, and practice overviews to facilitate client engagement.

  • Coordinate with our lawyers to ensure the readiness and quality of marketing collateral, CVs, and pitch content.

  • Project management and drafting of legal directory submissions.

  • (Working alongside the pitch team) oversee the pitch process from inception to delivery for standard proposals.

  • Support in raising the practice's profile both internally and externally in close partnership with the Marketing Communications team.

  • Assist in the orchestration, execution, and evaluation of events such as seminars, webinars, roundtables and conferences.

  • Participate in ad hoc projects as necessary.

Best Practices, Quality, and Standards

  • Adhere to established work-flow processes, identify opportunities for enhancement, and advocate for the adoption of available tools and materials.

  • Ensure the highest standard of work is delivered to the practice.

  • Develop strong relationships with the practice, sector and CRM teams as well as other relevant business teams.

  • Proactively seek feedback to gauge the quality, consistency, and timeliness of your contributions and to identify areas for improvement.

  • Drive continuous improvement by tracking and reporting on trends, including the variety and volume of support provided to the practice.

Experience required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is essential. Law degree or marketing qualification would be beneficial.

  • Be fully proficient in the Microsoft Office package (Word, PowerPoint and Excel are especially important).

  • Marketing experience - understanding of a marketing organisation, ideally within a professional services firm.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English (mandatory).

  • Experience of managing or leading a team.

Location

  • Warsaw (hybrid model - 2 days per week from the office)

Working hours

  • starting between: 9:30 - 10:00; finishing between: 17:45 - 18:15
