The Opportunity

We are looking for Software Technical Analyst who will work together with the Finance Systems team manages a complex SOX compliant infrastructure with many inter-related components that provide the repository of financial information required to support the Source of Earnings and other general ledger financial reporting at MFC. They also support the Enterprise-wide critical cash management and treasury solutions including the banking interfaces. There are over 4,000 global users of Finance and Treasury systems worldwide; peak usage occurs during local banking hours and during the quarterly financial reporting cycle. The key responsibilities of the area are data governance; ongoing operational support (including monitoring, setup, and end user support); application development; supporting global financial process change initiatives and leading change throughout the business units; implementing changes and upgrades to all systems supported by IFS; maintaining a controlled, reliable, accessible, and stable financial reporting environment.

We are looking for someone with:

  • 2-4 years of software analyst or engineering experience.
  • Solid hands-on experience in five or more of the following:
    • Batch scheduling tools (CAWLA)
    • Unix and Unix scripting
    • Relational Database (SQL/Oracle)
    • Microsoft Azure and Azure Data Lake.
    • Business Intelligence Software (Power BI)
    • Oracle Hyperion Essbase
    • JAVA
    • Python
  • Working experience with cloud-based development with Azure and Azure Data Lake.
  • Experience with agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins etc.
  • Familiarity with ITIL4 Framework and ServiceNow platform
  • Experience in supporting ERP tools (e.g. Infor Lawson, SAP)
  • Working knowledge of FTP processes and network interfaces, HTML, XML, and industry standard parsers.

  • Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively articulate and communicate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes.

On the job you will:

  • Effectively support Manulife’s complex Finance & Treasury systems and enhance existing processes for financial reporting in a large dynamic client server & intranet web environment. This includes batch and end user reporting tools designed to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with Business, Product Owners, software engineer, and platform engineers to uncover pain points and opportunities to deliver new business value through software.
  • Maintain high quality software, with accountability for production reliability and usage, and the delivery of new functionality by help build, and test new functionality to deliver on product objectives.
  • Be part or lead initiatives to develop and improve standards and methodologies.
  • Support non-production and production operations and fixes.
  • Work with flexibility to adjust to meet with the global team and support weekend deployments or production requirements.

Salary range is expected to be between

$70,350.00 CAD - $117,250.00 CAD
