The Red Hat Workload Management team is looking for an infrastructure automation engineer to join us remotely in any US regions. In this role, you will lead developing and running the infrastructure tools used by Red Hat's Products and Global Engineering. As an infrastructure Automation Engineer, you will be a key part in the development and operation of infrastructure that the workload mgmt team supports, helping to increase the productivity and agility of the organization to deliver the platform that the infrastructure runs on. You will also help to optimize the resource usage and be part of a central organization that helps to scale the services across the Products and Global Engineering.
Primary job responsibilities
Lead and participate in internal tooling development
Help to identify routine manual jobs and automate the make the jobs efficient
Investigate and introduce tools that would help to support broader engineering organization
Automate and integrate usage reports from standard cloud and infrastructure platforms
Good with building simple dashboards to visualize data
Understand existing problems with platforms that support dev/QE/ CI and performance functions and introduce processes and policies to automate those
Constantly learn new things and have an overview of current technologies
Inspire and contribute to upstream open-source projects where necessary
Experience being part of DevOps or internal tools automation team that handles infrastructure
5+ years of related experience
Solid experience with RHEL, Linux, cloud computing and related software like Amazon Web Services (AWS), GCP or Azure, distributed web technologies, high availability, load balancing, failover, monitoring and alerting, shell scripting, and build tools
Strong skills in python / Ansible or Terraform are needed
Experience in Container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required
Ability to effectively prioritize and carry out tasks in a high-pressure environment
Good written and verbal communication skills to handle communication in a distributed team
Knowledge of Git, GitHub, JIRA, Jenkins, OpenShift by Red Hat

The salary range for this position is $111,260.00 - $183,580.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
