Position Summary

The Senior Cloud Operations Engineer will provide expertise, support, and development for critical infrastructure components. This role focuses on automating, optimizing, and modernizing both physical and cloud environments for the Enterprise Server infrastructure. The engineer will ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and security across CVS Health’s infrastructure, which spans 60,000+ servers, multiple datacenters, and multi-cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement automation strategies to streamline infrastructure operations across hybrid environments.

  • Optimize and modernize cloud and on-premises systems for performance and cost efficiency supporting right-sizing automation initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions for consistent and repeatable deployments.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure as code initiatives with business objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure automation with 2+ years designing, implementing, and managing public cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • 3+ years expertise in IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Python.

  • 2+ years knowledge of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration (Kubernetes).

  • 2+ years familiarity with private cloud technologies and virtualized environments (OpenShift, Hyper-V, VMware).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a strategic mindset.

  • Advanced coding skills across multiple infrastructure environments.

  • Relevant industry certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform).​

Education

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
