Description

The Demand Planner is responsible for developing and managing demand forecasts that support operational, financial, and strategic planning. This role partners cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure forecast accuracy, inventory optimization, and service level performance while minimizing excess and obsolescence.

As the Demand Planner, you will:

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve demand forecasts at the SKU, customer, and/or channel level

  • Analyze historical sales, promotions, seasonality, and market trends to drive forecast accuracy

  • Facilitate monthly demand review and consensus forecasting meetings

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to incorporate promotional, new product, and portfolio changes into the forecast

  • Monitor forecast accuracy (e.g., MAPE, bias) and identify root causes of variance

  • Provide demand inputs for S&OP / IBP processes

  • Support inventory planning by balancing service levels, working capital, and obsolescence risk

  • Maintain and improve forecasting tools, models, and master data

  • Prepare executive-level reporting and insights on demand trends and risks

  • Support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis as needed

Required education, experiences & skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field

  • 3–7 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analytics

  • Strong statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with demand planning systems (e.g., SAP APO/IBP, Oracle, Kinaxis, Anaplan) preferred

  • Knowledge of S&OP or Integrated Business Planning processes

  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred education, experiences & skills:

  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar certification

  • Experience in manufacturing, CPG, retail, or distribution environments

  • Familiarity with forecast modeling techniques and KPI development

  • Continuous improvement mindset and experience driving process enhancements
