Dow LAA Purchasing has an exciting opportunity for a LAA Sourcing Manager for PU/CAV and DIS, located in São Paulo, Brazil.
About you and this role
In this role, you will be responsible to create value for Dow by developing and executing sourcing strategies, leveraging supplier relationships, analyzing market conditions, negotiating with suppliers and internal partners to optimize sustained value for Dow. Additionally, you will be responsible to establish a strong partner engagement with the businesses to guarantee a perfect alignment between purchasing and business strategies. The current raw materials accountability is US$ 70MM.
You will need to analyze and identify internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. You should be able to communicate difficult concepts to others and persuade others to adopt a different point of view. It is your responsibility to be able to use sophisticated analytical thought and judgement to identify innovative solutions, leading others to solve complex problems and potentially lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Additionally, its required to be viewed as a leader amongst peers and actively participate in businesses forums, such as VCT´s, S&OP and other Businesses forums.
You will report to the Latin America Purchasing Director and fully aligned with the Global RMPEM Team on upcoming changes and initiatives coming out of your sourcing portfolio, both in and out of the Global Purchasing organization.
Responsibilities:
Lead and assist the execution of Sourcing Projects using the Strategic Sourcing Process.
Utilize business acumen and leverage best practices to drive value from the market and influence stakeholders.
Responsible for the negotiation, execution and implementation of commercial agreements and related work processes in accordance with the global strategies within the commercial area.
Use influential leadership to elevate the performance of their workgroup. This will require demonstrated depth of expertise in managing a portfolio with significant stakeholder, customer, and client impact.
Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions.
Drive and collaborate with internal stakeholders to control and sustain value delivery from negotiated agreements.
Lead multiple supplier management teams and regional projects.
Lead commercially the strategy and implementation of demolition projects globally.
Develop and maintain work processes and procedures for the disposition of surplus assets.
Implement a Risk mitigation plan in order to avoid plant disruption across LAA
Collects and utilizes market intelligence to shape purchases/strategic plans.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is required (no course preference)
8 years of relevant working experience.
Fluent English is mandatory, Spanish is a plus.
Proven ability and experience to work with and influence multiple functions and business partners is appropriate for success in the role.
Ability to focus on value delivery and maintaining sustainable competitive advantages.
Effective negotiator to be able to persuade others (internal stakeholders and external suppliers) through effective communication skills.
Financial and market analysis skills, and effectively manipulate and analyze data.
Initiative to challenge inefficiencies and process deviations.
