PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Primary role is to keep the constant flow and organization of shipping paperwork and documentation. Receives incoming product, from customers according to documented process. Ensures accuracy by verifying vendor, parts received, and quantity received in accordance with purchase orders.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under limited supervision, applies considerable receiving knowledge to perform a broad range of tasks which include but are not limited to receiving and verifying incoming shipments.
  • Receives goods from delivery services, local vendors and all common carriers.
  • Ensures accuracy of deliveries by counting all parts and verifying correct quantities using appropriate methods such as physical counting and calibrated scales.
  • Transacts goods received into Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and verifies purchase order, part number, and/or description.
  • Coordinates vendor pick-ups for returned products.
  • Unloads pallets from large freight containers and store according to company policies and procedures.
  • Notifies appropriate department managers of packages if other than a warehouse item. Directs office supplies to the appropriate recipients.
  • Ensures all non-production computer equipment and software is sent directly to the IT/IS Department.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues and/or in making recommendations.
  • Normally receives no instruction on routine daily work, and general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
  • May provide assistance to lower level staff with more complex support tasks that require a higher level of understanding of functions, as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • May escalate issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.
  • Reviews and complies with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assists with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bending, carrying, kneeling, lifting, seeing and hearing, sitting, maneuvering, pushing and pulling, reaching, standing, stooping and walking.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times while production is running.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree desirable.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:   

  • Minimum 2 - 4 years of related experience.
  • Current forklift certification or the ability to be certified.
  • Must pass a color vision screen.
  • Ability to work and handle multiple tasks in a fast paced work environment in a pleasant manner.
  • A strong attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to organize and direct a project to completion.
