As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform radiologic exams and fluoroscopic procedures on patients of all ages. In this role, you will be part of a knowledgeable and collaborative team of caregivers who continuously strengthen their skills to provide the best possible patient experience. In this role, you will interact, communicate, and collaborate with nursing caregivers to obtain signed consent forms, assist with examinations and patient preparation, and help determine the estimated length of time each patient will be in the department.

A caregiver in this role works nights from 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Perform ED/surgical procedures (trauma cases, fluoroscopic exams to include vascular, general medicine, ortho, cardiac, GI, GU, neuro, pediatrics, and general procedures). 

  • Produce images of optimal quality for interpretation with accuracy and without delay. 

  • Perform procedures in a sterile environment and maintain patient safety. 

  • Provide verbal and written instructions to patients and families on procedures as needed. 

  • Assist in scheduling patients. 

  • Monitor and determine priority of patients. 

  • Ensure patients' safety and comfort during and after the exam. 

  • Demonstrate the care and operation of Radiography equipment according to technical specifications and applications. 

  • Assist Radiologists, physicians, and surgeons with procedures. Knowledgeable in acquiring, archiving, transmitting, and printing images via PACS. 

  • When applicable, knowledge in afterhours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork. 

  • Report any malfunctions to the help desk and PACS Administrator. 

  • Maintain documentation requirements to ensure that all technical data is entered timely and accurately. 

  • Notify management and take proper action to address equipment malfunctions. 

  • Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires and Radiology students. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology 

  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), in good standing 

  • Current state licensure (RL) required prior to employment 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross 

  • Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes 

  • Ability to communicate well with Radiologists and physicians to coordinate proper imaging of patients 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist

  • One year of experience in radiology/x-ray

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
