The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support our DoD customer to implement an enterprise IT Service delivery model that provides consistent, secure, high-quality, and cost-effective services to enable mission success and improve end user experience across the customer environment.  On this program, we will deliver enhanced capabilities and services to implement and operate an enterprise ITSM solution, enterprise service desk, endpoint management.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Senior Business Analyst in an Agile/Scrum environment to develop custom software applications.  
  • Serve as the focal point for the capture, analysis, and management of functional and non-functional systems requirements, and user stories.
  • Effectively decompose mission/business objectives into system requirements contained within a product backlog which can then be implemented in a series of short and iterative development cycles.
  • Meet regularly with stakeholders to identify business needs.
  • Clearly communicate business needs to a development team through process flows, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with the ScrumMaster to establish Release/Sprint backlogs, resolve impediments, and provide direction on scope of work to be accomplished.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, as well as the product development team during the development cycle to ensure the customer needs are being met.
  • Review and evaluate work done by development team to ensure proper scope has been met.
  • Lead the demonstrations to stakeholder and report on the results of each software iteration.
  • Requires on site (Chantilly, VA) work location 5 days a week to be in proximity of self-hosted ServiceNow instances and environment. 

The Ideal Candidate Will Bring:

  • Experience developing business processes, capability needs, business requirements, and business information models.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into process flows, user stories, use cases and technical requirements.
  • Experience with functional decomposition of large business needs into multiple layers of requirements/user stories.
  • Experience conducting interviews with stakeholders to gather pertinent information.
  • Experience analyzing data and data relationships across an organization’s business areas.
  • Working knowledge of all elements of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, CM, quality assurance, and release management.
  • Able to understand the day-to-day operational needs of customers and identify areas for improvement in business processes and propose solutions.
  • Experience in estimating techniques.
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow.
  • Strong skills with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio)
  • The ability to be adaptable and to work constructively with a technically diverse team.
  • A willingness to learn and stay abreast of industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be successfully in obtain to a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance and pass all relevant background checks for a security clearance.
  • Bachelor Degree in relevant field ( 5 years' experience in relevant field may be substituted).
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum 3 year’s experience as a business analyst on iterative software development projects
  • Experience developing process guides.

  • ServiceNow experience
  • Experience identifying process improvement opportunities.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional
  • Agile or Scrum Master Certification
  • Certified Product Owner Certification
  • Knowledge and experience with the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK)

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$94,400 - $198,300
