As a R&D Senior Engineer – HVDC Control & Protection Application Software, you will be part of the Technology & Solutions Development (Business R&D) organization in HVDC, Hitachi Energy, Ludvika, Sweden. At HVDC R&D Control and Protection System Solutions, we work extensively with Real-Time Hardware-In Loop innovation and development. The cutting-edge solutions developed in this team are the building blocks for commercial HVDC projects, enhancing the HVDC Control and Protection System offering by Hitachi Energy.

Your responsibility

• Lead development of HVDC Control and Protection applications.
• Develop and implement High-Level Control and Protection schemes in software, that serves as foundational elements for global HVDC projects.
• Engage in electrical system programming and establish testing strategies adhering to industry norms.
• Collaborate on cutting-edge HVDC solutions with an international team.
• Uphold Hitachi Energy’s values by ensuring safety and integrity, demonstrating leadership in your expertise.

Your background

• You bring valuable experience in high-level HVDC C&P application software development, Hardware-In Loop development, and real-time simulation for HVDC systems.
• Your knowledge of HVDC technology is a must-have, and experience with the MACH™ system gives you an extra edge.
• You have a genuine technical interest in HVDC grid connection technologies and are eager to drive future developments in this field.
• As an agile team player, you focus on detail and accuracy, working towards shared goals.
• Your strong problem-solving skills ensure you deliver and document high-quality technical solutions.
• Proficiency in English is crucial for you as part of a global business. Your willingness to share knowledge and passion for technology are key to your role.
