About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, APAC Intelligence & ASCC Lead, the Manager, Global Security supports intelligence‑driven security operations across the APAC region, contributing to the protection of The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) people, assets, and reputation.

The role acts as a key connector between intelligence analysis and operational execution, working in close partnership with Intelligence teams to support the assessment, escalation, and reporting of incidents in accordance with established SOPs, and to surface emerging threats, intelligence gaps, and relevant trends for further analysis.

The role supports the day‑to‑day operation of the 24/7 ASCC, serving as a central operational contact for incident monitoring, escalation, reporting, and post‑incident review, while ensuring adherence to data protection, regulatory, and governance requirements. Strong stakeholder engagement underpins the role, with ongoing collaboration across Security Systems, Regional Security Managers, Compliance, Health & Safety, and global SOC counterparts to enable timely information sharing, coordinated responses, and effective risk mitigation.

In addition, the role provides people and operational support to the ASCC team, reinforcing performance expectations, capability development, and operational resilience through training, scenario testing, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Security Manager contributes to innovation efforts, supports security technology enhancements, assists with vendor performance management, and helps ensure the ASCC remains intelligence‑enabled, resilient, and responsive to evolving regional and global risks.

Responsibilities:

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with client stakeholders, including Security Systems, Intelligence, Health & Safety, Security Managers/Leads, and Compliance teams.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective supervision of the ASCC team.
  • Represent the ASCC by providing overviews of its functions to stakeholders and visitors, as requested.

Intelligence

  • Partner closely with the Intelligence analysts to evaluate, escalate, and report incidents per SOP guidelines.
  • Implement enhanced monitoring and reporting for significant issues affecting TWDC APAC.
  • Identify and address issues with incomplete, inaccurate, or missing source information, including software/data feed discrepancies.
  • Identify information about intelligence value and escalate to the Intelligence team for analysis.
  • Collaborate with Intelligence to refine the ASCC Escalation Decision Tree to address key threats effectively.

Security Systems

  • Act as the central point of contact for technical issues, innovations, and system requirements impacting ASCC performance.
  • Support new tool implementation through requirements gathering and user acceptance testing.
  • Attend weekly Systems team meetings to discuss technical issues, innovations, and requests for new technologies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate logging of system issues by ASCC operators in Merlin or applicable tools, per escalation of SOPs.
  • Provide operational support during technical failures and disseminate system-related updates (e.g., maintenance, commissioning).
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all TWDC security systems.

APAC Regional Security Managers

  • Communicate regional issues promptly to Regional Security Managers to enable swift responses.
  • Monitor intelligence feeds and provide support for business lines and assets under individual Regional Security Managers' purview.

Compliance

  • Ensure ASCC operations adhere to GDPR and data protection requirements, including safeguarding security data.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Compliance team to align procedures with TWDC policies.
  • Liaise with law enforcement as needed to release security data for investigations.

Health & Safety

  • Promote workplace safety and liaise with Health & Safety teams on new requirements, building issues, and infrastructure testing.

Global SOC Collaboration (GSCC & ASCC)

  • Notify GSCC of escalated incidents and engage in discussions on ongoing cases.
  • Align mapping issues with GSCC mapping teams via Compliance Administrators.
  • Communicate regional nuances and legal restrictions to other SOCs as needed.
  • Inform ASCC of relevant APAC business activity in APAC, coordinating with Security Managers.
  • Participate in joint SOC meetings as required.

ASCC Management

  • Enhance team standards through regular training, scenario testing, and toolbox talks.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify and test failover locations, equipment, and procedures, ensuring readiness.
  • Supervise reporting staff to maintain professionalism, compliance, and KPIs.
  • Lead innovative efforts to future-proof ASCC services.
  • Provide out-of-hours support to the ASCC when required.

Operational Management

  • Oversee ASCC operations, ensuring consistent and professional service delivery using security systems and platforms.
  • Act as the primary contact for daily operational security matters and TWDC asset monitoring.
  • Address system outages and coordinate vendor responses for physical security issues.
  • Facilitate clear communication with local teams using tools like Teams and language lines and inform relevant stakeholders.
  • Review ASCC KPIs regularly to ensure performance targets are met.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and implement feedback.
  • Manage vendor contracts to ensure comprehensive security coverage across APAC.

People Management

  • Ensure staff adhere to procedures, meet performance expectations, and are supported through regular feedback.
  • Motivate and mentor the team, with a focus on role clarity and continuous professional development.
  • Deliver staff induction, training, and development plans, emphasizing succession planning and staff welfare.
  • Manage performance, reduce absence, and address grievances in line with company policies.
  • Maintain proactive efforts to control staff turnover and allocate resources effectively.

Administration

  • Provide accurate, timely reports and ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and procedural obligations (e.g., GDPR, Health & Safety).
  • Review vendor contracts quarterly to ensure services provided by contractors are consistent with the contractual expectations.
  • Monitor and record staff allocation, extra coverage, and incident reporting.
  • Maintain and update documentation and contribute innovative ideas for ASCC service enhancement.
  • Attend meetings with Account Management and other stakeholders as needed.

Requirements:

  • 5 years+ of tactical/operational intelligence experience
  • 5 years+ in emergency, law enforcement, and/or military operations, and/or relevant professional experience
  • Experience building relationships and influencing stakeholders across multiple disciplines
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure and deadline focused environment while being able to understand, assess and prioritize business needs
  • Strong cultural awareness through experience working in and/or covering countries/regions in and around Asia Pacific
  • A well-established network within the security profession, and particularly security operations control center operations in APAC.
  • Must be prepared to travel within APAC in support of TWDC operations and as required, support broader APAC security operations.
  • Given the scale of regional and global security operations, and the collaboration with various teams across multiple time zones – attendance to meetings and security incident/crisis support outside of working hours may be required.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Advanced experience in supervising staff in a Security Operations Center environment
  • Certifications in security risk, intelligence, finance, project management, etc.
  • Extensive security operations center, military, intelligence (security), law enforcement and/or first responder experience, with leadership responsibilities
