PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Heavy Truck Driver is responsible for operating various heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

•    Operate loaders, graders, farm tractors etc. in the performance of roads and grounds maintenance or other maintenance activities as required. 
•    Maintain all assigned equipment in a safe operating condition
•    Oversee loading and unloading of vehicular type equipment or various other items. 
•    Secure loads on trailer for travel over various road conditions.  
•    Operate water trucks for road maintenance. 
•    Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. 
•    Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

•    Ability to multi-task.
•    Ability to comply with DOT FMCSA standards.
•    Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.  
•    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
•    Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
•    Must be able to work in a team environment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Must High School Diploma or Equivalent
•    Minimum of four years of Heavy Equipment operating  experience. 
•    Class A CDL with tanker endorsement preferred; ability to comply with DOT FMCSA standards. 
•    Ability to pass a drug and background screening
•    Must be able to pass Government background check
