Job Description

Position Summary

Provide support to the Rockwell Automation Supplier Quality Programs, with focus on New Product Introduction [NPI] execution. Support for NPI- related Plant and Customer issues, Supplier Assessments and Approvals, Supplier Issue Resolution, Supplier Risk Evaluations, Supplier Development, use of Advanced Quality Planning tools for process and part approvals, focusing on prevention and mitigating potential risks. Using project management tools for completion of all milestones. May have project leadership responsibility. This job may require 20% travel.

You will have excellent English verbal and written communication skills and can align presentations/ status updates depending on the audience. You can represent Supplier Quality in meetings with other tasks and provide feedback to peers or escalate to SQA managers. You should also will participate in QMS internal audits and third-party QMS, product or customer audits.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret Engineering drawings and technical documentation with understanding of Electrical/mechanical parts and products
  • Lead Supplier Quality Engineering early preventive activities including drawings requirements, risk assessment and mitigation, supplier audits and qualification activities, control plan development, inspection plan, first article review.
  • Analytical and problem-solving competency to improve performance results
  • Use dashboards and metrics to lead ongoing commodity performance continuous improvement
  • Lead and address any supplier related corrective, preventive actions, and improvement, addresses true and systemic cause, and eliminates repeats
  • Apply quality methodologies, tools, and techniques (e.g. 8D, SPC, Cp/Cpk, GR&R, Design for Six Sigma, Cost of Poor Quality, Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Run at Rate) incrementally and throughout product development and release.
  • Pursue tasks, and develop/implements actions
  • Focus on prevention, issue resolution and contributing to team
  • Demonstrate collaboration and partnership with peers, Partners (KSHs) and team
  • Work well in a matrix organization and accept shared accountability
  • Balances priorities and communicates well to team, partners, and management

  • Maintain accountability for high supplier quality performance and for completion of project milestones
  • Communicate quality and projects readouts to appropriate leadership
  • Manage varying priorities and collaborate across multiple partners and disciplines, internal and external customers
  • Participate and support main employee projects including the employee engagement survey, culture of inclusion projects and ethics

Qualifications

  • You have a bachelor's degree in engineering with preference to Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 8 years or more experience working in manufacturing, supplier, or quality engineering functions
  • Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Proficient at RCFA and problem-solving techniques (8D-5Why)
  • Experience leading quality audits on suppliers to assure products and services meet ISO standards.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write technical reports and presentations.
  • Project management and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate the work of peers.
  • Work with some management
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning system SAP.
  • Certification in LEAN, Six SIGMA tools and methodologies, Six Sigma Black Belt, CQE, CQA from ASQ
  • Supply chain management experience, our performance review, collaborative quality management with suppliers
  • Project Management or Project Management Professional certification
  • Master's in engineering
