Job Responsibilities:

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers.
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
  • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
  • Build page navigation buttons and search fields
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
  • Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

Mandatory Requirements:

  • In either case, the absolute bare minimum experience would be:
  • Min 5+ years working with Google’s Angular framework, ideally with recent experience on version 15 or above
  • Google’s Angular Material Design framework
  • Component-based style sheet design experience using SCSS
  • Development experience working with leaflets or similar GIS-based components

Nice to have:

  • Development experience working with Telerik / Kendo’s Angular component suite
  • Development experience working with leaflets or similar GIS-based components
  • Development experience writing front-end unit tests using Jasmine / Karma
  • UX design experience, working in Balsamiq, or other such tools

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree or relevant in related fields is preferred


Work Environment:

  • Office Environment
  • Remote only within Canada
  • It is expected, at this time, you may be required as part of the job function to travel up to 10%
