The role

Working within a tight knit team, the Inventory Planner coordinates the fulfillment of parts inventory in Australian controlled stockrooms and ensures they delivered within required delivery times and minimal logistic costs. The role is also responsible for providing operational performance reporting to the Business and is crucial in supporting the flow of Sandvik products to our customers and internal stakeholders.  

Areas of responsibility

  • Adhere to all policies & procedures especially the EHS policies
  • Improve customer experience and availability (fill rate, forecast accuracy etc.) of Parts standard assortment in the stockrooms of responsibility.
  • Responsible for sales stock, goods in transit, production stock and obsolescence reserve in the stockrooms of responsibility.
  • Responsible to analyze and maintain inventory parameters setting for standard assortment in the stockrooms of responsibility.
  • Responsible to coordinate with warehouse manager any improvement activities related with inventory control.
  • Responsible for analysis and to drive stock optimization initiatives (i.e.: returns process) on regular basis.
  • Participate and support regional/global initiatives or projects as needed

This role will be based at our state of the art East Coast Hub in Pinkenba and will involve participation in a roster that requires being contactable after hours and remote log-ins. 

This role is a full-time requirement, however Sandvik recognises the desire for flexible working options. Flexible employment arrangements include condensed working weeks, working from home, flexible start/finish times, etc.   

Your profile

You will have experience in Inventory Planning and Inventory Management, with people management responsibilities, while Tertiary qualifications in Inventory management/planning would be advantage.

Exposure to the supply of spare parts to the mining or automotive industry would be an advantage.

You must be computer literate, able to plan, develop & implement effectively, with the ability to read & interpret management reports. Strong knowledge of ERP systems and business management tools (Voyager, Systems 21) and Microsoft Office are a must. SAP S4 Hana experience in a similar role will be advantageous.

You will have superior communication and negotiation skills and be willing to achieve set goals and targets, coupled with strong team or relationship management experience.
