FORTNA is a Material Handling System integrator that works with the most modern techniques. You will be part of the Lifecycle Performance Services (LPS) team. A versatile role in which you are responsible for a wide range of activities.

What are you going to do?

As a project engineer you are part of a team of over 18 colleagues. You are responsible for the development, calculation and realization of maintenance and modification projects. This both technically and organizationally in the sales phase and during the realization of a project at our customers.

Turnaround times of projects vary between 3 months and 1.5 years. You are responsible for 4 to 10 projects in parallel, depending on the phase, complexity and size. You can switch quickly, keep an overview and act proactively where necessary. A varied and challenging role in which you are responsible from client request to realization.

Your main tasks here are:

  • Sales engineering of modifications and expansions

  • Translating (customer) specifications into a technical functional design

  • Project management of small and medium sized projects

  • Identify and mitigate project risks

  • Building customer relationships and solution-oriented action in case of project deviations and conflicts

  • Monitoring the budget, schedule and quality of projects

  • Results-oriented and monitors the total scope of delivery

Besides this, what do you need for the position?

You have experience in engineering. Preferably in possession of a technical Bachelor's degree or similar. This combined with broad technical knowledge and interests. What else we consider important are:

  • several years of experience in mechanical engineering

  • A good leader for project teams and customers, or develop this further

  • distinctive in technology where you can also come along well in this area and identify risks

  • Knowledge of and experience with reading technical documentation (drawings, diagrams, specifications)

  • Command of the Dutch and English languages. German is an advantage.

  • No problem to travel regularly for the projects (on average 15% of your time).
