Position Title:    Staff Registered Nurse
FLSA Status:      Non-Exempt
Reports To:        Nursing Shift Supervisors, Manager, Nursing Services

POSITION SUMMARY:
 

Performs varied professional nursing work (i.e., assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care provided to patients).  Observes and reports symptoms and reactions of patients and takes appropriate actions. Directs and guides patient/family teaching and the activities of ancillary personnel.  

Serves as team leader and/or charge nurse as assigned and performs within the scope of professional practice and license.

Starting Wage: $40.61

The posted wage is in accordance with the respective collective bargaining agreement and is the current starting or new graduate wage for this position.  Actual wage is dependent on the applicant's relevant experience and qualifications for this position, which may warrant a higher wage in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.  The wage range for this position may be subject to change in the future depending on a variety of factors such as market conditions, business needs, legal developments, and other appropriate factors consistent with the relevant collective bargaining agreement.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  Certification/Licensure:

  • Current State of Hawaii RN licensure.  

  • Current healthcare BLS certification 

  • Completion of competencies and other job-related and REHAB requirements.  

 

  Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.

 

  Skills/Experience:

  • Completion of required clinical experiences from an accredited nursing school as a new graduate.

  • Knowledge of the nursing process and quality improvement process.  

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a team.

  • Leadership skills to manage a team of staff nurses.

  • Ability to safely and effectively manage patients’ mobility.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  Certification/Licensure:

  • Rehabilitation Registered Nurse Certification (CRRN)

 

  Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

 

  Skills/Experience:

  • One (1) year experience in acute inpatient rehabilitation or acute care nursing as a RN.
