How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Business Development Manager - Electronics and Energy Transition Markets will be responsible to enable Airgas Regions and Business Units to sign deals in these markets.
Working collaboratively with the ALEUS team, WBL and ALTEC continuously improve the Airgas offering to the solar and electronics customers. Close alignment with SA Commercial Lead, Regions, and ALEUS on offer to subsegments and specific target customers (process, gas purity, safety, etc.).
Working with WBL, ALTEC, H2E, LI, and E&C to share learnings and understand the potential value opportunity in the Hard to Abate (Cement, Glass, Aluminum, and small scale steel) Industries. Learnings are captured in documents and tested with customers to validate and determine potential roadmaps to commercial opportunity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Own the ALEUS relationship from an offer portfolio and customer perspective.  Collaborate to maximize the entire ALEUS/Airgas portfolio across the Electronics market.  Ensure the collaboration works with limited issues and the customer views Airgas/ALEUS as one company.

  • Develop deep customer insight into the IM opportunities with the  energy transition.  Responsible for having the right offer portfolio and promoting it and/or developing the right offer when it is missing.

  • Learnings are captured in documents and tested with customers to validate and determine potential roadmaps to commercial opportunity.  Ensure Airgas is engaged with customers on pilots and demonstrations.  Leverage across all Air Liquide entities with Airgas gaining share on core business.

  • Position Airgas with targeted players in Hard to Abate industries as a valued partner as they develop their greenhouse gas roadmaps.

  • Track other changing market opportunities (new carbon products - nanotubes, etc.) with potential gas usage and quantify opportunities and develop the offer portfolios.

  • H2 Hub Coordinator for Airgas, working in strong coordination with H2 E&M Hub Coordinator with a focus on funding opportunities and strategy alignment.

  • In collaboration with Marketing Operations define the Go-To-Market strategy across the markets/offers with appropriate channels.

  • Support/drive Region/Business Unit teams to capture and update all opportunities on Salesforce with robust reporting aligned with Marketing Drive for wins and potential opportunity.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Education:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required engineering, science preferred; 

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in Business Development desired.  Specific experience in service industries or industrial gases business desired.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and as an active member and leader of a cross-functional team is essential.

  • Strong communication & presentations skills, comfort presenting to senior level executives, customers, and broadly across Airgas organization 

  • Customer focus and ability to understand concepts from customer perspective and valuation.  Critical that offerings are evaluated from both Airgas and target customer perspectives.

  • Technical competence in the electronics and Hard to Abate Industries ecosystems

  • Sales results driven, attention to detail, process-oriented. 

  • Ability to multitask 

  • Strong analytical skills 

  • Strong sales, project management and organizational skills 

  • Ability to address delicate situations and effectively manage conflict to maximize project team progress (collaboration skills)

  • Willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development.  

  • Ability to travel throughout the US and Canada

  • Ability to lead cross functional teams remotely through webinars, emails, video conferencing and knowing when a face-to-face meeting is necessary.
