Job Title:

Supply Tech I - Main Operating Room

Job Summary:

To perform the services of stocking, distribution of all incoming supplies and equipment, managing inventory, picking supply orders from storeroom for delivery.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma/GED or successful completion of the UMMC Project Search program. Experience in stocking, loading, replenishing or distributing inventory in a Hospital Supply setting preferred.  Five years of successful work experience may be substituted for educational requirement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of shipping, receiving, stocking, and equipment and inventory management methods and procedures.  Interpersonal skills to interact with staff and upper level management. Communications skills, verbal and written.  Ability to work in a team environment.  Computer skills and the ability to work with related software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Stocks, maintains and controls inventory of supplies for assigned areas according to the department policy and procedures.
  • Delivers and verifies incoming shipments and/or materials to assigned destinations according to departmental policy and procedures.
  • Examines, and verifies incoming shipments according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and reports discrepancies of incoming shipments for assigned areas for assigned areas according to departmental policy and procedures.
  • Opens, picks, closes and distributes internal orders according to departmental policy and procedures.
  • Prepares case carts (operating room), and/or assembles designated supplies and instruments from pick lists for par locations and assigned areas.
  • Adheres to required hospital standards relative to internal policies, OSHA, TJC and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs decontamination procedures according to department policy and procedure.
  • Generates orders through automated system for required supplies for assigned areas according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Operates all computer software and programs according to institutional and department policy and procedures.
