Full-time fixed-term position through to December 2027.
Base salary will be in the range $117,958.12 - $132,247.57 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 8)

We are seeking an experienced Research Project Manager to provide specialised project and clinical trial management support to investigators, researchers and clinicians within the Antimicrobial Optimisation (AMO) Group, based at the UQ Centre for Clinical Research (UQCCR) / UQ Frazer Institute.
In this role, you will apply advanced project management expertise to the coordination and delivery of complex clinical studies and randomised controlled trials (RCTs) involving state, national and international hospitals and research partners. You will play a critical role in ensuring trials are delivered to the highest scientific, ethical and regulatory standards, contributing directly to impactful research outcomes in antimicrobial resistance and optimisation.
Key responsibilities will include:
Manage and coordinate complex, multi-site clinical research projects and randomised controlled trials in accordance with ICH-GCP, SOPs, and local and international regulatory requirements.
Prepare and manage HREC and research governance submissions, trial documentation (including Trial Master Files), progress reports, and stakeholder updates across the trial lifecycle.
Oversee trial operations including site activation, patient recruitment, data and biospecimen collection, safety reporting, monitoring, and close-out activities.
Manage relationships with external research organisations, vendors, investigators and trial sites to ensure protocol, contractual and regulatory compliance.
Support trial budgets, contracts, payments, and investigational product accountability and reconciliation.
Organise and participate in investigator meetings, project meetings, training activities, and site visits, including trial initiation and monitoring visits.
Provide specialist project management and clinical research expertise, contribute to mentoring and development of staff and students, and support junior research staff as required.
Collaborate closely with the CRE Manager, Data Manager and research teams to deliver projects, reports and database-related activities, and perform other duties aligned with project needs.

You will bring strong experience managing complex, multi-site clinical research projects and thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. You will have:
Postgraduate qualifications (or progress towards) with extensive research management experience; or an undergraduate degree with extensive research management experience and relevant training
Demonstrated experience managing complex national and international clinical trials
Strong working knowledge of ICH-GCP and Australian and international clinical trial regulatory requirements
Experience across the full clinical trial lifecycle, including feasibility, budgeting, site start-up, trial delivery and close-out
Proven ability to coordinate projects involving diverse stakeholders and competing priorities
Highly developed organisational, planning, analytical and stakeholder management skills
Experience with clinical trial management systems and the ability to quickly learn new platforms
Experience in Contract Research Organisations (CROs), or as a Senior Clinical Research Associate or Project Manager (highly regarded)
A strong commitment to research integrity, ethics, and workplace health and safety
