The Program Management Lead is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the business regarding program management. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports planning, directing and coordination of day-to-day activities of running a project, program or portfolio of programs.
  • Applies in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the subfunction as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function; and, requires basic commercial awareness.
  • Assesses creation and signoff of project/program plan and charter, benefits management plan, stakeholder management plan, acceptance plan, and central program issue log.
  • Oversees project/program plans meet business needs as described in the project/program initiation/other documents.
  • Ensures all stakeholders are identified and included in scope definition activities and understand the project/program schedule and key milestones.
  • Ensures all areas of the project/program are appropriately staffed.
  • Monitors project/program commitment from those assigning resources.
  • Documents and escalates project/program risks and issues to the Project/Program Director, or Project/Program Sponsor, when appropriate.
  • Creates the project/program risk and issue management plans.
  • Makes recommendations for training and development needs for personnel.
  • Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience in project/program management, including PMO, in financial services (banking preferred)
  • Strong negotiation, teaming, and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent oral and written presentation/communication skills necessary to effectively communicate issues, risks, and progress on complex milestones, projects/programs to multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to proficiently use MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
  • PMP (or similar) certification preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree

  • Strong attention to detail in supporting management reporting with clear and concise analysis and presentation
  • Highly motivated and self-directed; exhibit thoughtful leadership and strong critical thinking skills

  • Ability to deliver efficiently against compressed timelines
  • Self-initiative, ability to work productively when unsupervised and to multitask across multiple concurrent projects

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$103,920.00 - $155,880.00
