Job Description:
Standardized Patients (SPs) are individuals who provide a realistic patient experience for our medical student learners. One essential component of our SP program, are SPS that use their body as a teaching tool in the Gynecological (GYN) physical exam. The GYN exam is comprised of the following:
An inspection of the mons pubis, labia majora and minora, clitoris, urethral opening, and introitus for lesions or lumps.
A full speculum examination.
A bimanual examination.
A full breast examination.
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
High school diploma/GED required and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Gynecological Teaching Associate (GTA) certification is preferred but not required.
Experience in education, or health care preferred but not required
Individuals who have not had any of their female organs removed (i.e., uterus, ovaries, cervix, breasts (lumpectomies excluded)).
Job Competencies
Must possess basic computer typing and data entry skills.
Excellent ability to recall learner experiences.
Exceptional communication skills.
Ability to follow directions and accept constructive criticism.
Must be very reliable and able to accommodate a flexible schedule.
Have reliable access to email for communication and scheduling.
Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community.
Criminal and education background check required.
