The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Advising Innovation Manager, UNLV Student Academic Success - Advising Practice [R0144247]

ROLE of the POSITION

The Advising Innovation Manager position is responsible for supporting the campus academic advising community as we enhance advisors fluency and utilization of Rebel Success Hub (“RSH”) (Salesforce EDA).  The role is responsible for managing change in advising practices, reporting, and supporting staff across advising and academic affairs through concise communication and developing opportunities for training across the community.  The role is also responsible for implementation and oversight of centralized campus wide student success initiatives as delivered through the Rebel Success Hub (RSH) with the goal of reducing advising activities occurring outside of the system of record for the campus.

Primary responsibilities include developing and documenting the standard work practices expected of all advisors and coordinating the development of business practices, knowledge articles, and other automated practices that ensure a premier student experience in RSH functions and utilization for various student success areas (ex: Academic Advising, learning support, peer mentoring, etc.). This position will develop content to enhance the execution of both automated and ad hoc campaigns, communications, success plans, tasks and alerts (advising, retention, progression, completion) for all continuing undergraduate students. Additionally, this role will provide focused assessment and analysis of student success initiatives, design and implementation of proactive student outreach, and standard advising practices to ensure equitable outcomes and accessibility for population specific support. The Advising Innovation Manager oversees the student success practices of the Rebel Success Hub (RSH) platform, which includes supporting the advising community to troubleshoot and report user experience issues, manage reporting requests from advising community, and facilitating user training and fluency.

This role also coordinates the operational elements of complex success and retention related initiatives mandated by UNLV, NSHE, professional associations and/or accreditation agencies. The Advising Innovation Manager serves as an expert voice in advancing student centered and equity minded programs, practices, and strategies across all aspects of the student experience with particular emphasis on academic advising and strategic retention initiatives with the goal that undergraduate students experience frictionless progression through functionality available in RSH for self-service, appointment scheduling, and resolution of obstacles preventing their continued enrollment. The increased emphasis from NSHE and campus leadership on student success, eliminating achievement gaps, proactive advising/outreach, and data informed decisions make this position critical for the AVPSS team. This role will help advance and refine innovative gamechanger student success strategies and further leverage the functionality of the RSH. The role is also responsible for providing leadership, accountability metrics, and support to college advising directors, RPC advising positions, and FY advisors in alignment with Provost Office expectations and priorities related to student success, retention, and completion metrics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and at least 3 years of experience using technology to support academic advising and student success, and 1-3 years of management experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A Master’s degree is preferred. 3 years of experience training others to utilize student success technology platforms in a higher education setting is preferred.   3 to 5 years of management experience is preferred.
