Mobile Repair Technician

 

Are you mechanically or technically inclined? Do you enjoy figuring out how things work and fixing them when they need repair? Whether you are an expert or a novice, we will provide training.

HD Supply, a Home Depot company, is hiring a Mobile Repair Technician to join our Service and Repairs team. In this role, you will be provided a company vehicle, fuel card, and tools for the job. You will generally head out from your home and visit customers in need of our repair services. The position offers a competitive base salary plus a bonus, cell phone and expenses are included.

 

In this role you will be:

  • Diagnosing repairs required to fix customer-owned janitorial cleaning equipment, including parts required.  Submitting necessary paperwork for customer quotes & billings in a timely manner.
  • Completing all repairs based on manufacturer’s recommendations and ensuring operator and personal safety first.
  • Contacting manufacturer’s technical assistance when needed.
  • Completing Installation of & scheduled PM service on laundry/kitchen dish machine dispensing equipment at customer locations.
  • Maintaining clean and orderly “company provided” tools, equipment, work area and vehicle, scheduling routine maintenance and ensuring all vehicle documentation is current.
  • Constantly working on improving productivity and labor utilization and increasing invoiced labor.
  • Handling and loading case goods or equipment for deliveries or installations that can weigh up to 95 lbs. 
  • Assisting other departments to ensure customer care issues are resolved.

Job Summary

Repair products returned with defects and communicate with the customer and vendor.

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for daily repairs and troubleshooting including, maintenance, design, and documentation.
  • Contacts customer, vendors and internal department via phone, fax, or e-mail.
  • Creates sales and purchase orders.
  • Maintains accurate documentation on all repairs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope

  • Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
  • Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.
  • None.

Work Environment

  • Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
  • No travel required.

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
