A Day in the Life

The Area Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily logistics operations within the Returns Department for medical products. In this role you ensure that all activities related to incoming returned goods, inspection, storage, and inventory control are executed efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with strict quality standards.

Working in a high-precision environment, you lead the shop floor, coordinate team activities, and drive continuous improvement through proactive suggestions. Strong focus on 6S principles, quality control, and operational excellence is essential.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Lead and coordinate the daily workflow on the returns floor, ensuring optimal productivity and quality
  • Supervise the handling, inspection, and documentation of returned medical products and monitor compliance with regulatory and quality standards specific to medical logistics
  • Implement and maintain 6S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) practices
  • Act as the first point of contact for operational issues, solving problems in real-time and identify and propose process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate with quality, warehouse, and planning teams to align on priorities and product flow and maintain accurate stock records and support inventory audits
  • Train and support team members on procedures, safety, and best practices

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proven experience in logistics or warehouse coordination, preferably in a medical or high-quality environment and with strong leadership skills and the ability to drive performance on the floor
  • Familiarity with handling sensitive or regulated products (e.g. medical devices or pharmaceuticals)
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with 6S / lean principles and basic IT skills and experience with warehouse/inventory systems
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
