A Brief Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in driving strategic financial planning, analysis, and decision-making across the organization. This position is responsible for preparing detailed financial reports, forecasts, and models to support budgeting, expense management, and performance evaluation. The analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to provide insights that enhance operational efficiency and profitability.


What you will do

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support forecast, budgeting, and strategic planning
  • Develop, implement, and maintain business intelligence reports and dashboards tailored to financial metrics and KPIs
  • Collaborate across departments and functions to deliver insightful analysis and commentary comparing actual performance against plan and forecast, focusing on key business drivers
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for finance process improvement
  • Understand key systems, how they are used, and attributes to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent related work experience (CPA preferred) required
  • Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) preferred
  • 5+ Years experience with finance and/or accounting required
  • Advanced proficiency in excel and other systems that support financial modeling (i.e. PowerBI, Sigma, Oracle, Onestream) required
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and financial statement analysis required
  • Insurance/reinsurance industry experience preferred
  • Investment accounting experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills required
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex financial challenges required
  • Advanced technical skills in handling large datasets, with expertise in Excel, DAX, Power Query, and data visualization required
  • Advanced skills in managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility. required
  • Advanced persuasion skills when working with internal and external partners to resolve issues/problems. required
  • Advanced oral and written communication and facilitation skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by internal and external contacts. required
  • Advanced ability to analyze and improve business processes required
  • Advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines. required
  • Advanced ability to work well within a team and foster teamwork environment. required
  • CPA, MBA, or CFA preferred

Compensation Range:

$87,050.00 - $131,450.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
