This position is currently contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation. 

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (AS) sector is seeking a Program Director 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role is based out of Melbourne, FL. 

The selected candidate will support a large software development, integration and execution program and is responsible for the software delivery, test and deployment of a multi-domain hardware and software solution. The individual works in partnership with the Program engineering organization and Execution IPTs to derive staffing requirements and estimates. This role collaborates in the allocation of requirements, develop integrated hardware and software solutions, and support integration and test at the subsystem and system level. The individual is also responsible for managing the roadmap for the Integrated Functional Capabilities (IFC)Emphasis is placed on IFC planning and execution including Agile SW development, automated testing, as well as laboratory testing capabilities to verify performance to the maximum extent possible. Recent and relevant experience in Model Based System Engineering and understanding of digital threads, digital twins, and integration across air vehicle, software, and avionics design and analysis tools. This role will lead the planning, development, integration, test and delivery of the software factory.   

Key Responsibilities include:  

  • Positively lead, inspire and motivate a team to execute a plan for the software factory vision and direction 

  • Effectively coordinate across multiple program IPTs to manage change and configuration of requirements 

  • Lead a team of technical team members to deliver technical capabilities 

  • Manage team to baseline schedule and cost allocations  

  • Actively manage Risk, Issues & Opportunities to ensure program execution success 

  • Partner with functional disciplines to define and integrate expertise into the team 

  • Be a digital advocate, applying new tools and functionality to drive execution efficiencies 

  • Manage a test capability thread across the entire software pipeline 

  • Oversee program/project reviews, independent technical reviews, NCTA and indirect activities, process improvement plans, proposal review and signoff, and capital planning and management 

  • Customer communication and collaboration to drive mutual goals and shared success

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9 years) of related experience as defined below, OR a Master’s degree and 8 years (or Master of Science in STEM and 7 years) of related experience as defined below 

  • Related experience includes a background in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions 

  • At least 3 years’ experience in program/project management, including cost and schedule management. 

  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company, and with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance  

  • Prior roles executing on digital programs leading to an understanding of how digital ecosystems function, integrate data and deliver execution efficiencies 

  • Experience leading a team in a matrixed environment to achieve program goals 

  • Program management experience on Agile programs applying incremental planning and delivering programs on schedule 

  • Experience developing and executing capability roadmaps including hardware/software integration and selloff 

Salary Range: $197,500.00 - $296,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
