The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Associate on a 27-month contract at the Learning Sciences and Assessment Department.

Project Title: Curiosity, 21st Century Competencies, and Self-Directed Learning

Project Introduction: The project aims to understand how curiosity and 21st century competencies develop in self-directed, student-initiated learning experiences in MOE secondary schools. The project uses a variety of methods such as surveys, digital device use, and generative AI chatbots.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Psychology, Education, or related fields
• Applicants with at least 5 years of relevant experience in research preferred
• Familiarity with quantitative research, such as survey analysis
• Experience with MOE schools
• Experience with generative AI chatbots is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Do literature review and develop research instruments
• Manage data collection and data analysis
• Assist with project reports and presentations
• Lead team of student assistants
• Manage project administration such as meetings, documentation, ethics application and compliance, and other tasks related to the project
• Any other duties as assigned by Principal Investigator
