Job Title: Software Engineer

Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore

Business & Team:  As a software Engineer, you will be part of a Platform Engineering team that enables Cloud adoption for the rest of the Bank. We put customers at the centre of everything we do. As a Software Engineer, you'll be helping all CBA Business Units to adopt and deliver applications at scale by leveraging standard hosting patterns. In doing so, you will be helping the application teams with troubleshooting their application deployments from their code, the web servers and the cloud deployments. Your expertise in .NET and Systems engineering will be a crucial element for you to be successful in this role. 


Roles & responsibilities:

  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills 

  • Excellent knowledge on AWS cloud 

  • Have experience in CI/CD pipelines with integrated automated testing and governance 

  • Are passionate about DevOps/Automation and have a powerful desire to solve complex problems in a systematic approach - e.g using PowerShell  

  • Work with various application teams to ensure the stability and security of the cloud platform 

  • Have natural drive to educate, communicate and positively influence various stakeholder groups 

  • Willingness to continuously learn new tools and technologies 

  • Have ability to think outside the box and break boundaries to solve complex problems 

  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices with specific focus on the following concepts: source control, CI/CD, automated testing, logging and monitoring 

  • Have a great understanding of software delivery practices and lifecycles in Agile methodologies 

  • Should be able to work in 24x7 shifts 

  • Should be able to support chat interactions by answering consumer queries effectively. 

Essential skills:

  • 4-7 years of experience in relevant field.

  • Excellent debugging skills with ability to solve complex technical issues 

  • Experience operating and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines   

  • Experience with Infrastructure as code and automating manual tasks 

  • Mentoring and coaching capabilities, able to influence practices and mindsets in the crew   

  • Develop, lead, and deploy CI/CD strategies  

  • CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, TeamCity, Artifactory, Octopus Deploy  

  • Logging & monitoring: CloudWatch, AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus knowledge are desirable 

  • Automating repetitive tasks using Python, shell scripting, PowerShell etc.  

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems across the CI/CD toolchain  

  • Basic knowledge on .net.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
