JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Qualification:

Medical Assistant Certification through a national credentialing body required, must be a High School Graduate/GED equivalent.  Requires successful interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, physicians; and other health care team members.

Preferred Qualification:  Minimum of one-year experience in a heath care environment preferred.  Formal training as a medical assistant preferred.

Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments, knowledge of computers, keyboard, e-mail programs and the use of web-based applications, basic understanding of rules, regulations and retrieval of insurance information.

 
Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Administer therapeutic injections in a clinic setting, complete all relevant documentation, and demonstrate proper technique, efficiency, and customer sensitivity.

  • Complete vital signs, height, weight, and drug screens if indicated, including submitting billing documentation.

  • Completes activities necessary for the maintenance of the Clozaril Clinic and Injection Clinic, or Vivitrol program, including but not limited to, assistance in obtaining medication, vital signs, height, and weight if indicated and related clinical documentation.

  • Maintain linkage with local pharmacies to facilitate the safe, timely refill on client prescriptions and prior authorizations with insurance companies.

  • Works with Centerstone staff to ensure continuity of care for consumers.

  • Triage medication and care related calls from clients, families, stakeholders, etc. and coordinates necessary physician involvement.

  • Stocks offices with proper medical consents or forms as needed as well as empty’s shredding bins.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This job operates in a professional office environment. Works in well-lighted areas.  Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hours.  Is subject to frequent interruptions.  Is involved with patients, family members, personnel, visitors, etc., under all conditions/circumstances. Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset patients, family members, etc.  Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel:

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday - 8:30-5:00.

$15.00--$21.00
